Vincent Alessi is a former Broward County school teacher and administrator who came out of retirement in 2015 to open and manage operations as principal for Ascend Academy Charter High School. Since the tragedy at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, Mr. Alessi fortified his school with advanced technology and common-sense procedures to maximize safety and promote awareness of possible threats to the school.
